<P>This document provides information about the integrated service pack for Microsoft&reg; Windows&reg;&nbsp;XP Home Edition, Windows&reg;&nbsp;XP Professional, and Windows&reg;&nbsp;XP 64-Bit Edition. Review this document to better understand the scope of the integrated version of Microsoft&reg;Windows&reg;&nbsp;XP Service Pack&nbsp;1 (SP1) and the issues that it addresses.</P>

<P>This product includes Windows&nbsp;XP integrated with the SP1 files. The SP1 files that are part of this integrated service pack are a collection of updates for
Windows&nbsp;XP. So, if you use this CD to install
Windows&nbsp;XP, you are also automatically installing SP1.</P>
<P class="important"><B>Important</B></p>
<UL>
<LI>You cannot remove a service pack that you install as an integrated service pack with Windows&nbsp;XP.</LI>
<LI>You can install the integrated version of Microsoft Windows&nbsp;XP with SP1 on computers that are running Microsoft&reg; Windows&reg;&nbsp;98, Windows&reg;&nbsp;98 Second&nbsp;Edition, Windows&nbsp;NT&reg;&nbsp;4.0 Workstation, Windows&reg; Millennium&nbsp;Edition, Windows&reg;&nbsp;2000 Professional, Windows&nbsp;XP Home&nbsp;Edition, Windows&nbsp;XP Professional, and Windows&nbsp;XP 64-Bit&nbsp;Edition. If you want to upgrade Microsoft&reg; Windows&reg;&nbsp;95 with the integrated version of Windows&nbsp;XP with SP1, you will need to perform a clean installation.</LI>
<LI>If you are upgrading from Windows versions other than Windows&nbsp;XP and want to use the integrated version of Windows&nbsp;XP with SP1, check with the manufacturer of your computer about upgrading your BIOS before you proceed.</LI>

<P>The SP1 files that are part of this integrated service pack are a collection of updates for Windows&nbsp;XP. These updates pertain to:</p>

<LI>The <I>Microsoft Windows&nbsp;XP Hotfix Installation and Deployment Guide</i> (HFDeploy.htm) provides instructions for installing hotfixes on multiple computers. This guide is available on the <a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=8602" target="blank">Microsoft Windows&nbsp;XP Service Pack&nbsp;1 Web site</a> (see <B>Hotfix Deployment Guide</b> under <B>Learn More</b>).</LI>
<LI>The Deploy.cab file contains a collection of tools and is located in the \Support\Tools folder on the service pack CD. The deployment tools assist system administrators in installing Windows&nbsp;XP on multiple computers. Note that Deploy.cab is not automatically loaded when you install SP1.<BR>
<br>For more information on the deployment tools, see the Help file <i>Microsoft Windows Corporate Deployment Tools User's Guide</i> (Deploy.chm), which is included in Deploy.cab.</LI>
<LI>The Support.cab file contains a collection of tools and is located in the \Support\Tools folder on the service pack CD. The support tools in this file help support personnel and network administrators manage their networks and troubleshoot problems. Note that Support.cab is not automatically loaded when you install SP1.</LI><BR>
